Crack the Code with South Facing
Since April 2010, Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes has been mandatory for commercial House builders and from 2012 code level 4 will be adopted. Both code 5 and 6 require that all on-site electricity must be generated from renewable sources – in fact many builders have elected to utilise Solar PV as the cornerstone renewable technology for their CSH strategy in all future developments up to code 6. As the news of the Feed-in Tariff gets round, buyers will be attracted to houses built with more than just the minimum size PV system necessary to fulfill the code. The larger the system the more income they will receive and therefore the desirable the house will be. South facing plots could also achieve a premium over others because they will generate the most income.
As MCS accredited PV engineers, South Facing are one of the few companies that are permitted to design install and commission PV systems for connection under the Feed-in Tariff Law and CSH.
