John Bond House, London
New build social housing project
Objective
To achieve code level 4 CSH across the site
Specific design issues
The design team was keen to ensure no penetrations were made through the of the roof.
Solution
The single ply roof membrane was used to weld an aluminium rail section to the roof. This formed the frame to which the modules were mounted. The central roof is a sawtooth design orientated south. The north and south blocks have flat roofs and utilise triangular frames mounted on rails. The modules had to be designed in 2 arrays so that they could be divided into the 2 risers with equal power outputs.
