10kWp – Social Housing retrofit Solar PV
Objective
When the Housing Association decided to refurbish this 70’s built social housing development – they were keen to reduce energy costs for tenants. South facing suggested that they apply for the Feed-in Tariff as a way to generate an income and pay for the works.

Solution
South Facing was selected to design and install the 10kWp Solar PV array on the south facing roof space.
The tiles were of an unusual design which required that we design and manufacture a bespoke roof hook.
System detail
Modules – 48 Sharp 210W
Inverters – Fronius IG 60 and IG 40
Total System Output 10kwp
Result
South Facing’s cost effective PV solution was delivered on time and generates an income under the Feed-in Tariff plus the benefit of free electricity to the Housing Association tenants.
It also reduces the building’s annual C02 emissions by over 4 tonnes.
