19kWp – Social Housing
Social Housing apartment blocks

Objective
The local authority – implementing the Merton Rule required the developer to
deliver 10% of the building’s predicted energy use from on site renewable sources.

Solution
South Facing worked closely with the developer and M&E consultant to design a system that would achieve the carbon saving targets on budget and on time. The solar PV arrays were installed on the large south facing roofs.  The project was 40% funded with an LCBP grant.

System details
Modules- 56x Sharp162Watt poly crystalline
Inverters – Fronius IG 60
Total installed 9.072kWp

Result
The system successfully reduces electricity consumption and carbon emissions for all the occupants. This low carbon building  has helped create awareness of energy saving and renewables amoungst the tenants and the wider community.
