Photovoltaic system price guide

The average house in the UK will consume 3,300 units (kilowatt hours) of electricity per year. The average home is a 3 bed semi and will usually have roof space for a 2kW system (approx15sq m).

1 Kilowatt system1 kilowatt system will cost around £7,000 and supply 825 kilowatt hours or units of electricity per year. With a grant of £2,000 you would pay around £5,000. Most importantly it would prevent 468kg  of carbon from entering the atmosphere and could save you £120 per year on electricity.
 


2 Kilowatt system2 kilowatt system consists of 12 modules, will cost around £11,000 and supply 1,700 units (kilowatt hours) of electricity per year - around half the need of the average UK home. With a maximum grant of £2,500 you would pay around £9,000. This would prevent a ton of carbon from entering the atmosphere and could save £250 per year.


5 Kilowatt system5 kilowatt system will cost around £25,000 and supply 4,250 - 4500 units (kilowatt hours) of electricity per year. With a maximum grant of £2,500 you would pay around £22,500 abating 1.7 of a tons of carbon and saving up to £630 annually.
